Lisa Nguyen tries to “take it one day at a time and enjoy the moment.”

That’s a necessary attitude for anyone that opened a food business in March 2020, like she did with HeyDay.

She just decided then to “make what is true to me even if it doesn't make sense to everyone else,” Lisa said. And it worked…for us who get to enjoy HeyDay treats and for Lisa, who can work with deep purpose.

“I want to introduce textures and flavors near and dear to me but I also want to be able to share a moment with those like me, Asian American, who have one foot in as an American and the other in as Asian.”

“I want to bring [them] back to a moment that reminds them of their childhood or something so familiar that it's comforting.”
