pROUDLY SUPPORTING

OUR COMMUNITY

In 2022, we contributed $110,000 to four impactful forces for racial equity in our region…

empowering latine women

Adelante Mujeres

Adelante Mujeres (Women Rise Up) empowers Latine women and their families through meaningful educational and leadership opportunities. Generations of poverty, racism, sexism, and isolation have limited opportunities for Latinas. Adelante Mujeres is on a mission to change that! Adelante Mujeres has a rich history of successfully engaging the Latine and immigrant community by providing educational resources and acting as a forum for community advocacy since 2002. We served over 15,000 individuals in 2022 with comprehensive, life-changing services. Approximately 98% of participants are low or extremely low-income, the majority identify as female, and an estimated 91% are first-generation immigrants. Programs are targeted to Latine families, yet we have families from all backgrounds, a majority being from communities of color. We serve families through four specific departments (Education, Microenterprise, Leadership & Advocacy, Health Equity) that house a total of 15 programs. www.adelantemujeres.org

advancing equity

Apano

APANO Communities United Fund (CUF)—also known as APANO—unites Asians and Pacific Islanders to build power, develop leaders and advance equity through organizing, advocacy, community development and cultural work. Founded in 1996 with the support of the Immigrant Refugee Community Organization (IRCO), APANO is one of Oregon’s longest-standing APA grassroots advocacy organizations. We originated under the principle that we are stronger together. Advocating for social justice for more than 25 years, we work to close those gaps. To bring about the just world we envision, we work in solidarity to drive political, social, and economic and cultural change. - APANO.org

SELF-DETERMINATION

LATINO NETWORK

Latino Network is a Latino-led education organization, grounded in culturally-specific practices and services, that lifts up youth and families to reach their full potential. Our work springs from the core belief in Latino community self-determination—that is, the ability of community members to participate meaningfully in the decisions that affect their lives and the lives of their families. Our programs for children and parents, youth and adults help improve community livability, foster civic participation, and prepare for educational and life success. - latnet.org

What does the partnership with TASTE mean to you?

“TASTE for Equity is a celebration that brings our community together in a genuine and meaningful way. Everyone is welcome to both celebrate and to also learn from each other about how we can collaborate to make real change happen. Latino Network is honored to be a part of this effort to promote connection with individuals and organizations dedicated to improving the lives of Oregonians in our shared work.” Juan Martinez, Latino Network Director of Philanthropy
