Alexana’s primary focus is producing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from its Revana Estate Vineyard and other premium vineyards with like-minded farming practices throughout the Willamette Valley in Oregon. At Alexana, we believe that winemaking begins in the vineyard. Our world-class Pinot Noir is a result of farming in a way that respects the land while maintaining the integrity of the varietal and allowing the vineyard to tell its own story of each vintage.
It is this philosophy that leads us to craft wines from a distinct time and place with fruit from both our Estate Vineyard in the Dundee Hills AVA as well as a few of the most respected vineyard sites in the Willamette Valley. Dr. Madaiah Revana, Founder and President,
balances a successful practice as a cardiologist in Houston, Texas with his commitment to Alexana Estate Vineyard. His desire to take on an additional career in winemaking is rooted in his Indian Heritage, passion for both wine, and the rich tradition and culture of winemaking.
First introduced to fine wine by friends, he quickly became fascinated with Bordeaux’s first growths and established Revana Estate in Napa Valley. Dr. Revana traveled the wine regions of Europe and the United States, learning along the way, and he became determined to create vineyard estates from which he could craft his own world-class wines. His passion for winemaking led him to pursue other varietals that he admired from Burgundy, which inspired him to establish Alexana Estate in the Dundee Hills of Oregon–a region known for growing excellent Pinot Noir.
Dr. Revana joins a small circle of vintners with wineries in multiple, critically-acclaimed wine regions, including Bernard Arnault of LVMH, the Antinori family, and Joseph Drouhin. Today, he is the only immigrant from India to own three wineries that have all been featured on Top 100 lists and are highly-acclaimed.
